Dissolution pH monitoring and controlling

is a system for monitoring and controlling the pH value when performing dissolution tests. 

The system for simultaneous monitoring and controlling the pH value in 8 dissolution test vessels, when performing dissolution test, consists of a pH monitoring unit, a relay-output unit, and a software. 

The pH monitoring unit consists of 8 high quality pH electrodes with extended cables. There is also possible to use the ion-selective electrodes in case if measurements of ionic concentration in an aqueous solution are required. 
For mounting the electrodes on dissolution apparatus there exists two possibilities:

  • electrodes are fixed on the covers of the vessels with special grippers and
  • electrodes are movable (could be lifted up and down) using sampling manifold. 

    The relay-output unit serves for precise sparging of carbon dioxide or nitrogen in each vessel in order to control pH value and time-controlled by relays. Gas flow control valves are not the ON-OFF type but enable exact flow rate of the gas. Power relays are housed in a protection enclosure with removable lid. 

    The software for monitoring the process was developed by company EA Instruments Ltd, United Kingdom. Software runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems: Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 10. The display of results is presented in tabular and graphic form. Measuring cycle and measuring time limit can be set in a wide range. Single and simultaneous pH calibration is possible. The control set up enables the individual settings for the pH set point and control parameters for each channel.

The resolution is approximately 0.5% of the measured value, depending on the range
The Accuracy is highest near the calibration point, about 0.5%. It is therefore recommended to calibrate close to the expected sample value.
